Keep the everyday kit in shape.
A simple routine starts with the manufacturer’s care label.
Follow the instructions for the item.
Fabrics, coatings and protective components need different care. Check the product label and manufacturer’s instructions before washing. Do not assume equipment from the same brand can all be cleaned the same way.
Give it time to dry.
After cleaning as directed, dry the item using the recommended method before putting it away. Avoid adding heat or chemicals unless the manufacturer explicitly permits them.
Check for wear.
Look at closures, seams, straps and fastenings as part of your normal routine. If an item is damaged, ask about repair or replacement. Safety-related equipment must meet the manufacturer’s inspection and replacement instructions.
Store it thoughtfully.
